Rivals is a series of five to seven-minute webisodes produced for the Internet, showcasing regional all-star competitors matched against each other in a staged contest, plus helpful coaching tips from a pro. Family and friends cheer for their favorite player, in the spirit of sportsmanship and friendly rivalry.
With a sponsor's brand tastefully displayed on the home page of thousands of local youth sports websites, this becomes a link to young players and their families around the globe. They get streaming Rivals video plus special offers on selected sponsored merchandise, all at the click of a button.
A series host introduces and emcees each episode, along with a guest celebrity from the featured sport to evaluate and coach players on how to improve their game. Slow motion and computer graphics technology is used to help evaluate form, style and performance. Kids around the world will want to watch to see the guest pro, and parents will want to see how their own child measures up.
There are countless youth sports videos on the Web, mostly shaky images shot from the stands. Rivals is unique in that the competitions are staged contests between regional all-star players. This allows for more up-close and personal coverage to reveal an exciting microcosm of athletics all too often overlooked, the world of youth sports.
